The "eighth wonder of the world" is the clarion call of the brochures, and for once, they're not far wrong. The spectacular geography of the 8288 -square -kilometer NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA occupies the volcanic highlands between the Great Rift Valley's western escarpment and the Serengeti plains. It's the product of the volcanic upheavals that accompanied the formation of the Rift Valley, and its varied habitats virtually guarantee sightings of the big five: elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino. For animals the place is a heaven, while for the tourists it's something close to it.
Ngorongoro is a place where you can see many fascinating things – the Maasai tribe who are living inside the crater, and the moving sand and natural hot spring water. You can have the chance to visit the place where they found the oldest known footprint of the first people walking the Earth. There is more to see here than we can even say. Don't miss visiting this place, which is like heaven for the animals.
