Highlights: Arusha National Park, Tarangire National Park, Olduvai Gorge, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater National Park, and Marangu Village
Day 1: Arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and meet with SAE’s expert guide. Dinner and overnight at the New Arusha Hotel.
Day 2: Spend the day at Arusha National Park for a game drive and walking safari inside the park. Get your binoculars ready and see if you can spot this park’s famous black and white Colobus Monkeys. Enjoy a picnic lunch. Proceed to Tarangire National Park for dinner and overnight at the Tarangire Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Full day game drive at Tarangire National Park which is known for its elephant populations. Return to the lodge for a hot lunch and rest. Enjoy an evening game drive and then back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Travel to the Serengeti National Park via the Olduvai Gorge. Learn about this historic archeological site and have a picnic lunch. Continue on thru the Serengeti Plain and reach the Serengeti Serena Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Full day game drive in the Serengeti National Park with a picnic lunch and then back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: More game drives in the Serengeti to search for animals not yet seen. Return to the lodge for a hot lunch and rest. Enjoy an evening game drive and then back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact crater in the world, for a game drive in the crater floor. Have a picnic lunch and finish the game drive hoping to see an endangered black rhino. Return to the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Travel to Arusha. Learn about the daily life of Tanzanians by visiting a small village, shopping at a local market, and touring a public school. Lunch, dinner, and overnight at a hotel in Arusha.
Day 9: Travel to Marangu Village located in the beautiful foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Check into a hotel and have a hot lunch. Tour a coffee plantation and trek to a waterfall. Dinner and overnight at hotel near Marangu.
Day 10: Enjoy a cultural tour of Marangu Village to learn about the Chagga tribe. Be intrigued by a local iron smith and traditional Chagga house. Overnight at a hotel near Marangu.
Day 11: Travel to Arusha to get ready for your departure home. Check into a hotel and have a hot lunch. Spend the day shopping for souvenirs and gifts. Overnight at hotel in Arusha.
Day 12: You will have a day room at the hotel. Transfer to the Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home.
